End of Extra COVID SNAP
During COVID, Massachusetts households have been getting extra Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Due to recent action by the federal government, these extra payments are ending.
The last extra COVID SNAP payment will be on March 2, 2023.
Since April 2020, these extra payments (at least $95) have been put on EBT cards at the beginning of each month.
Starting in April, your household will get only one SNAP payment. That amount is your normal monthly benefit. You can get your normal amount on DTA Connect or listen to the information about your case by calling 877-382-2363.
Your SNAP may go up if you tell DTA about certain costs.

If you don't already claim the expenses below, your SNAP may go up if you tell DTA about these costs:
- Medical costs over $35 a month for anyone in your SNAP household who is 60 or older or has a disability,
- Increase to your housing costs (rent/mortgage), and
- Child or disabled adult care costs (if anyone in your SNAP household is working, looking for work, or in school).
DTA doesn't need proof from you about these costs – just tell them the information. If they need any proof, they will tell you.
Send the medical deduction form below to DTA or bring it to your local DTA office. You can also call the DTA Assistance Line at 877-382-2363 with any questions.
