Asian Outreach Campaign
You can make a difference in the lives of low-income members of the Asian community by supporting the Friends of the Asian Outreach Unit Donor Campaign.
For more than 40 years, the Asian Outreach Unit (AOU) at Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) has provided bilingual, culturally sensitive legal representation to help poor Asian immigrants secure the basic necessities of life – food, shelter, income and safety.
Every year, AOU advocates assist hundreds of low-income Asian clients to help improve their lives.
AOU advocates also work with the Asian immigrant community to empower and develop the community’s ability to successfully address issues that affect their neighborhoods. A good example of AOU’s community empowerment work is the passage of the bilingual ballots law bill which primarily helps elderly citizens vote in Boston elections.
AOU attorneys also mentor Asian Pacific American undergraduate and law students attracted to public interest law who will become the next generation of legal advocates to serve this community.
Many Friends of AOU have donated generously, raising over $300,000 in the past three years to preserve AOU services. We need your continued support to provide critical legal assistance for the most vulnerable members of the Asian community.
You can make a difference.
Thank You!
