STASH’S PIZZA OWNER CONVICTED OF FORCED LABOR CHARGES AFTER YEARS OF PHYSICAL VIOLENCE AND IMMIGRATION THREATS AGAINST UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT WORKERS
BOSTON, MA – In federal court today, a jury convicted Stash’s Pizza owner Steve Papantoniadis of three counts of forced labor and three counts of attempted forced labor in a prosecution brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Greater Boston Legal Services’ Employment Law Unit represents five of the immigrant workers who testified before the jury as labor trafficking survivors; the Boston University School of Law’s Immigrants’ Rights and Human Trafficking Program represents a sixth worker. Both programs also represent other former Stash’s Pizza workers who did not provide testimony.
